Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety

Pharmacovigilance is the science and practises concerned with the detection, assessment, comprehension, and avoidance of adverse effects or other medicine/vaccine-related issues. It takes the initiative and focuses on signal interpretation.

The frequency of treatment-emergent adverse medication effects (i.e., physical or laboratory toxicity that could be attributed to the medicine) is referred to as drug safety. That is, they appear after treatment and were not there previously, or they worsen during treatment when compared to the pre-treatment state. It is reactive and mostly concerned with compliance reporting.
